FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR EDWARD LARSON, 90

Waseca, MN - Edward Larson, 90, R. 1, died shortly after midnight Monday, July 11 at Waseca Area Memorial Hospital. He had suffered a stroke at the home of his daughter in rural Waseca on July 3. He would have been 91 years old on July 13. He was born near Thor, Iowa, July 13, 1886, the oldest son of Martin and Martha (Lonning) Larson. He attended rural school near Thor, Iowa. In 1911 he moved to the Hartland area where he farmed for a couple of years and was employed as a tiler. May 16, 1918, he married Pearl Krassin in Waseca. He served in the US Army during World War I, stationed in France. After his discharge from the Army in 1919 he and his wife lived for a time in Iowa and Albert Lea. In 1920 they moved to a farm in section 34, St Mary's Township, which remained his home until three years ago when he changed off living with his children. He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church and the World War I Barracks. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Harry McColley, rural Waseca; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lorna Larson, Waseca; daughter-in-law, Myrtle Larson, rural Waseca; foster son, Chester Schaefer, Marshfield, Wis; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew, Albert Lea and Gehart, Humboldt, Iowa. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Methodist Church. The Rev Clayton Oberg will officiate and burial will be in Woodville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pfaff-Kinder Home for Funerals Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m., 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday and at the church before services. He was preceded in death by his wife, March 26, 1964, a son, Stanley, Jan 15, 1977, his parents, four brothers, four sisters, two half brothers, and two half sisters.
