October 15, 1855 --- April 23, 1946

Peter Kragt died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. August Katje, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. He was 90 years old. Peter Kragt was born in North Holland on October 15, 1855. He was married to Agnes Wydenes in 1880, and 10 children were born to this union, 3 of whom have passed away. The family emigrated to Colorado in 1892, and a year later moved to Wright County, Iowa, and farmed there until 1903 when they moved to Prinsburg, Minn. In 1919 they moved to Orange City. Mrs. Kragt died 9 years ago, and since then he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. August Katje. Surviving are 3 sons and 4 daughters. Mrs. Dena Baker of Rock Valley, Neal of Sioux City, Peter of Lynden. Wash., Jake of Milaca Minn., Mrs. Gerrit De Bruin of Rock Valley, Mrs. Katje of Orange City and Mrs. Joe Wallinga of Sheldon. There are 32 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26 at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Protestant Reformed Church in Orange City.
