October 1, 1902 --- November 2, 1965

Funeral services for Phillip M. Griffin, 63, of Sioux City, former Hawarden resident who died in a Sioux City hospital Tuesday of last week were held at St. Joseph Catholic church there with burial in Sioux City. Mr. Griffin had been in poor health for two years with a heart ailment. He resided at 1300 22nd street in Sioux City having lived in the city 25 years. He was born at Eagle Grove on October 1, 1902, and married Helen McGrath at Clarion, Iowa, on February 20, 1928. Mr. Griffin worked as a trainman for the Chicago and Northwestern Railway for 32 years before retiring last year. He worked out of Hawarden where they resided before moving to Sioux City. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and belonged to the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Survivors include the widow and a sister, Miss Catherine Griffin of Eagle Grove.
