FATALLY HURT AS CAR ROLLS OVER

Fred Subject, 63, of Craig was fatally injured and his brother-in-law, John R. Warner, 71, of near McNally was seriously injured last Friday afternoon, when the automobile in which they were riding overturned one mile west of Craig. Donald Warner, 10 years of age, a grandson of John R. Warner and the third occupant of the car, escaped with bruises. They were on their way to the John Warner home, northwest of Craig when the accident occurred. According to reports, Mr. Warner, owner and driver of the car, lost control of the automobile in loose gravel and the machine rolled over three times. All were thrown clear of the car. Dr. F. F. Null was summoned from Hawarden and a call was sent later to Hawarden for an ambulance. The injured men were taken to St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City, where Mr. Subject died within a hour from a fractured skull. His body was brought to Hawarden for enbalming and later sent to Clarion, Iowa, for burial. Mr. Warner is in serious condition at the Sioux City hospital. His spinal cord is partially severed. His family is with him and his daughter, Mrs. Lou Herren, a registered nurse, is helping care for him.

Fred Subject, was born in Canada, and he came to the United States when about 24 years of age. He was united in marriage with Alice Warner at Clarion, Iowa. She passed away about two years ago. He came to the home of his brother-in-law, John Warner, near Craig last winter and lived there the past six months. He was employed as a railroad man. He is survived by four children.
