February 25, 1862 --- March 16, 1927

Conductor Frank Hadlock of Eagle Grove died suddenly March 16th at Webster City when he was giving a signal for a train to pull out. John Reynolds, the engineer, was about to start his engine and when he looked back to see if Mr. Hadlock had gotten onto the train, he observed him stretched out on the platform. Death was instantaneous and was due to heart trouble. Mr. Hadlock was 64 years of age. During the recent examinations held for railroad employees of the Northwestern Railway Co. it was discovered that Mr. Hadlock was not in the best of health but he was permitted to return to work. He is survived by two sons, Frank Jr. of Cranford, N. J., and Charles of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Hadlock was well known in Hawarden, having had a run in here for many years.
