Mary E. Burrough, age 71, of La Grange Park, formerly of Chicago and Holland, MI, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Foster G. McGaw Hospital, Illinois.

Mary was born October 11, 1939, to Arthur and Marguerite (Burns) Nervig in Thor, IA. Mary graduated from Kuemper High School in Carroll, IA. After high school she attended St. Teresa College, Winona, MN. She was a showroom manager at the Merchandise Mart, in Chicago, for approximately 30 years. She had an overwhelming dedication to her faith in Our Lord who was her ministry during this most courageous battle of cancer of 14 years. Her years on this earth were lengthened due to the great love and inspiration given to her by her husband. She was beloved by all; especially by all her nieces, nephews and friends. Every person she knew was given the utmost of affection and a share of her perpetual joyfulness. She was memorable to all who knew her and met her. Her kindness, understanding, fortitude, piety and giving of herself in love, was unequaled.

She is the beloved wife of John F. Burrough, fond sister of Peggy Carroll, Susan Lindgren, the late James Nervig and Jane Benson; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Winona, with concelebrants Rev. Tom Niehaus and Msgr. Roy Literski officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Winona. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, November 1, 2010, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona and beginning at 9:00 AM at the church on Tuesday. Memorials can be directed to Loyola University Health System or Ovarian Cancer Research. Services entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Winona, MN.
