November 25, 1931 --– January 13, 2013

Opal Yoder, 81, of Woolstock died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Pastor Connie Thayer officiating. Burial will be in the French Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fosters.

Opal Irene Patterson, daughter of John F. and Ora E. Trent Patterson, was born November 25, 1931 at Cedar Falls. She received her education in the Webster City schools. On February 19, 1949 she was united in marriage to Grover (Shorty) S. Yoder Jr. They made their home in Webster City until moving to Woolstock. Opal worked as a waitress for Marilyn’s Café in Woolstock and Nadens Manufacturing for over 25 years. Shorty Yoder passed away in 2002.

She is survived by her children, Sheila (Al) Larue of Eagle Grove; Donna Fibikar of Dows; Randy Yoder of Woolstock; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Eugene Patterson of Sweet Home, OR; sister, Gwen (Jim) Anderson of Blairsburg; many sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; both parent; step-father, Lawrence Benton; brothers, John, Gary and Myron Patterson; sisters, Maxine Barton, Mary Arhens, and Annabel Johnson; step-brother, George Benton.

Opal was a member of the Methodist Church in Woolstock. She was a great cook and loving mother.
