Sheryl (Staples) Greenlee of Windsor, Calif., passed away Oct. 14, 2012, following a car accident in California. She was born Nov. 18, 1958, in Carroll, was a 1977 graduate of Kuemper High School in Carroll, and attended Iowa State University in Ames. Sheryl is survived by her parents, Donald and Gail Staples of Clarion; three children: Ben Greenlee, Robin and her husband James Deck, and Eric Greenlee; one grandson, Cameron; and her ex-husband and friend, Michael Greenlee, all of Windsor, Calif. Sherri has eight brothers and sisters: Steve Staples of Arcadia, Mike Staples of Sanger, Texas, Nancy and her husband James Herrig of Wall Lake, Donna and her husband Ron Petersen of Carroll, Joan Fleener of Wall Lake, Lisa and her husband Marty Beachy of Britt, Susie Bird of Ute, Kevin and his wife Karen Staples of Goldfield, as well as 12 nieces and nephews. Sherri managed the floral department at Safeway in Sebastopol, Calif. She was very active with the Windsor High School Booster Club and football and wrestling teams. A graveside service was held at Shiloh District Cemetery in Windsor, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, with a reception immediately following.
