Michael A. Bessman, age 58, of Alden, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Monday at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden with inurnment in the Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Michael Arnold Bessman was born on November 19, 1954 in Hampton, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Marjorie (Denekas) Bessman. He went to Buckeye grade school, graduated from the Alden High School in 1973 and graduated from Ellsworth Community College and I.S.U. Michael was united in marriage to Peggy Keller on August 1, 1974 at the United Methodist Church in Popejoy. He drove a truck that he owned and operated for 13 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Memorial U.C.C. in Alden.

Michael is survived by his wife, Peggy; a son, Chris and his wife, Monica of Hubbard and their son, Rafe; two daughters, Allison Beadle and her husband, Dennis of Iowa Falls and their children, Jacob, Baylie, and James and Jennifer Bessman of Des Moines; two sisters, Susan Hoppen of Iowa Falls and Karen Varrelman and her husband, Butch of Chapin; and nieces and nephews, Angie, Danny, Becky, Jody, Felicia, Tiffany, Amy, and Brad. He was preceded in death by his parents.
