Robert “Bob” Prouty, 85, died on November 15, 2012, at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas. Bob was born to Wilbur and Willomina (Weigand) Prouty in rural Newton on September 15, 1927. He was one of seven children. Bob retired as a supervisor of the City of Hesston. In prior years, he worked at Boeing and the railroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Mildred (Seltenreich) Prouty; sisters, Carol Rostetter, Mary Prouty, Marilyn Van Rossen, and Donna Tatro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Willomina Prouty; brother, Ted Prouty; and sister, Jean Frisen. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 21, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, at 10 a.m. A committal service was held following the service. A memorial has been set up for the National Kidney Foundation, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
