January 31, 1881 ---- August 15, 1956

Rock Valley, IA-- Mrs. Dena Baker, 75, died Wednesday at her home here after a long illness. Mrs. Baker was born January 31, 1881, in The Netherlands. She came to the United States when she was 12 years old. She had lived in Rock Valley the last 46 years. Her husband Pierre, died in 1932.

Survivors include a son John of Hospers, Iowa; two daughters, Miss Agnes Baker and Mrs. John Nobel, both of Rock Valley; three sisters, Mrs. Gerrit De Bruin of Rock Valley, Mrs. August Katje of Orange City and Mrs. Rinck Bergsma of Sheldon; three brothers, Neil Kragt of Sioux City, Peter Kragt of Lynden, Washington; and Jake Kragt of Pease, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Staurday at the Vander Ploeg funeral home and at 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed church. Rev. C. Huissen officiated and burial was in Valley View cemetery.
