EAGLE GROVE - Elizabeth "Betty" C. Nearing, 109, of Eagle Grove, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 16th at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Church on Friday. The Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Survivors include her daughter Mary "Jackie" Nemo of Fort Dodge; son, Bing Nearing of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Normajean Nearing Tomasko of Tulsa, OK; Cheryl Sherry formerly of Fort Dodge; Gary Nearing of Chandler, AZ; Jeff Rhode and his wife Mindy, formerly of Webster City and Eagle Grove; John Paul Nearing of Chandler, AZ; six great- grandchildren, and her brother, Thomas McEachern and his wife Joann of Vancouver B.C., Canada. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jane (Currie) Campbell; husband, Adrian; four brothers and two sisters.

Elizabeth Catherine Campbell was born on April 10, 1903 in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was married to Adrian Nearing for 48 years. Betty was the lady of the house and was also a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed baking, reading, music and praying the Rosary.
