Alice Modlin, age 94, of Iowa Falls, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with burial in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
Alice Emily Modlin was born on February 3, 1918 in Riceville, Iowa to Clark and Effie (Ford) Jennison. Alice graduated high school from Clarion, Iowa. On January 25, 1939, Alice was united in marriage to Ralph Modlin at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was involved with the Pak-N-Go-Campers and also card clubs. Alice is survived by four children Donald Modlin and his significant other Diane of Parkersburg, IA, Gary (Barb) Modlin of Maple Grove, MN, Karen (Clark) Tufte of Hastings, MN and Janis (Kent) Chaplin of Iowa Falls, IA; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one sister Margaret Schuffleman of Corwith, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant daughter Dorothy and a daughter-in-law Jane Modlin.
