Funeral services for Jack Dean Rummens, 79, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Jack passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisting family with arrangements.

Jack Dean Rummens was born on May 10, 1933 in Belmond, IA, the son of Ole and Edith (Butterfield) Rummens. He married Shirley M. Kvick on October 14, 1955 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2007. Jack worked at Oscar Mayer for 38 years, he retired in 1991. Jack served in the U.S. Marines Corp during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed traveling, and watching the Bears, Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include his daughter, Jeanette Jones of Davenport, one grandson, Jason (Sara) Jones of Epworth, IA, and two great grandchildren, Michaela and Addison, and a sister Barb Rummens of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Shirley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Friemel, and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their care and compassion during his stay.
