Ray Armour, 74, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. Steve Peters officiating. Burial will be in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, Holmes, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Raymond Dean Armour, the son of Roe and Alice (Jotten) Armour, was born June 1, 1938 in Clarion, Iowa and attended schools in Clarion, Iowa. On June 14, 1956, he married Dorothy Smith in Blairburg, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Clarion before moving to Melaka, Minnesota where Ray was Chief of Police for several years. Then in 1963, they moved to Clare and raised their family. Later they moved to an acreage near Vincent where the couple raised farm animal. Due to Dorothy's illness they moved to Humboldt where Dorothy passed away on May 13, 1989. Ray married Noreen Havermann in Carroll, Iowa on April 21, 2006, and after their marriage the couple made their home in Fort Dodge.

Ray worked for Iowa Beef for 20 years and then the Yacht Club in Humboldt for six years before working at Chantland Manufacturing in Humboldt for eight years retiring in 2001. Ray owned his own welding fabrication business. Ray loved to go fishing, farm sales, auctions, and restoring old tractors and being part of tractor clubs.

He was a member Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, past member of Local Union at Iowa Beef and a past member of the Vincent Lions Club. He was also a member of the Royal Order of the Moose.

Ray is survived by his second wife, Noreen; four children, Ralene (Soloman) Gibbs of Wylie, Texas, Rodeane (Carl Campbell) Armour of Chicago, Illinois, Rod (Sharla) Armour, and Rick Armour both of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Geneice (Wayne) Stupka of Kanawha, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; his parents and three sisters, Barbara (infant) Armour, Beverly Riley and Betty Kalem.
