May 21, 1903 ---- December 16, 1987

Jeannie W. Hopkey, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Tiedeman) Gealow, was born on May 21, 1903 in Belmond, Iowa. She was educated in Wright County, and attended business school in Des Moines, Iowa, after which she began working as a bookkeeper at the Ford Garage in Belmond, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Edward L. Hopkey in 1929. They farmed in Franklin County until 1935, when they moved to Belmond, Iowa. She retired in 1966, and moved to the Burney Apartments.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Norma Jean) Thompson of Belmond, Iowa. One son, Jerry Hopkey of Rivera Beach, Florida. Six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren. Five sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Wendel and Mrs. William (Gertrude) Pals, both of Belmond, Iowa, Mrs. Percy (Ella) Smith of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Mrs. Lilly Milligan of Banning, California and Josephine Gealow of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Services will be Friday, December 18, 1987, at 1:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Belmond, Iowa conducted by the Reverend Larry Willey with burial in the Belmond Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald "Red" Sheriff, Don Thompson, Paul Dieger, William Sheriff, Arnold Wendel, and Paul Trees. Tenold Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
