Helen Hilpipre, 85, Battle Creek, Neb.

Helen Pearl Hilpipre, age 85, of Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, Nebraska, and formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, Webster City, Iowa, and Dows, Iowa, passed away quietly at Tilden Community Hospital, Tilden, Nebraska at 6:30 P.M. Saturday, August 11, 2012. Memorial services for Helen P. Hilpipre, of Battle Creek, Nebraska, will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday August 18, 2012 at the Dows Convention Center. Pastor Ron Nelson will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Berlin Township cemetery near Owasa. Friends may call on the family at the convention center beginning at 11:00 A.M. Saturday.

Helen was born on December 21, 1926, on a farm near Eagle City, [?] Iowa. Her parents were Roy & Nettie (Shaner) Anderson. She attended country school & Dows Community School. She married Earnest E. Harris on October 18, 1945. She married Alvin Hilpipre on July 27, 1971. They lived in Webster City, Mystic and Centerville, Iowa until retirement. After the death of her husband Alvin, she moved to Nebraska to be with her only surviving son.

Helen is survived by her son, Kerry Harris & Joyceln Vogel of Battle Creek, NE; brother, George Anderson and his wife Darlene of Dows, IA; sister-in-law, Judy Anderson; grand-daughters, Stacey Harris, Chandra Craig, Amy Craig, & Jenna Vogel; grandsons, Edward Harris, Jarred Vogel, Jenna's husband Anthony Preusker; great grandchildren, Jacob & BrieAnna Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverley Craig; son-in-law, Lynn Craig; her parents, her husbands, Earnest Harris & Alvin Hilpipre; an infant brother; brothers, Floyd, Alvin, Robert, & Carl; sister, Janet Cooper; and nephew Mike Anderson.
