HOLMES, IA Oct. 25 — Funeral services for Leon Benton, 53, of Holmes, who died Sunday at his home following a heart attack, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. at the home and at 2 p.m., at the Kastler funeral home in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Lloyd Hohn will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Benton had been a mail clerk here for several years and was a disabled veteran of World War I. He was born at McLain, Illinois on April 26, 1896, and moved to Wright County, near Clarion in 1916 and to Holmes in 1925. On Feb. 12, 1922, he was married to Martha Clark, and they had four children, Mrs. Harold Manning, William of Eagle Grove, Earl of Holmes and Frances at home. Surviving beside his wife and children are four granddaughters; three brothers, the Rev. Thomas Benton of Fenton, Ill., Earl of Eagle Grove and James of Rowan.
