Receives word of Death of Uncle

Mrs. Ernest Till received word of the death of her uncle, Nathan Simmons, about 80, at his home in Eagle Grove on Tuesday, Jan. 4. He was born near Republic, the son of Mary and Jule Simmons.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, (Floyd, in California, and Clarence of Des Moines, and a sister, Mrs. Jerry Martin, of Clarkeville. Mrs. Anna Simmons is a sister-in-law and Mrs. Floyd Speedling and Mrs. Harry Allen are nieces. The funeral will be at Eagle Grove on Thursday afternoon.

Former Railroad Conductor Dies

Eagle Grove — Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist church for Nate L.
Simmons, 81, who died at his home Tuesday following several years illness. Services were conducted by the Rev. Harrison G. Dawes, assisted by the Rev. Clarence Tompkins, a former pastor, now of Fort Dodge. Mr. Simmons, who had resided in Eagle Grove for over 60 years, retired in 1937 as conductor on the Northern Iowa division of the C. and N. W. railroad. Survivors are Mrs. Simmons and 2 sons, Clarence of Des Moines, and Floyd of Los Angeles, Cal., and a sister, Mrs. Jerry Martin of Nashua.
