Gale Arthur Paul was born July 16, 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar F. Paul at Clarion and passed away April 9, 1966 at the age of 48 years, 8 months and 24 days. He served In the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He served as a law enforcement officer in Clarion, was associated with Motor Club of Iowa for many years and recently with Combined Insurance Association. He was united in marriage to Nellie Alverson on November 10, 1952. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother, Elmer of Clarion. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Nellie, his brother, Francis Paul of Madrid, and his sister, Mildred Cram of Whittier, California. Also three step-sons, Alfred Alverson of Clarion, Keith Alverson of Circle Pines, Minnesota and Oscar Alverson Jr. of Terre Haute, Indiana, and five step-daughters, Alberta Holm of Tripoli, Marcy Downing of Clarion, Esther Schaefer of Palmdale, California; Gloria Alverson of Des Moines and Mardell Dean of Clarion. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
