Retired Grocer Dies at Eagle Grove

EAGLE GROVE — Funeral services were held Thursday morning for Fred A. Maier, 81, long time Eagle Grove businessman. He died at the Bludnick Nursing Home. Services were held at the Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Maurice Mullan officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Maier operated a grocery store here many years. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Francis Coddington and Mrs. Elizabeth Newgirg, both of Eagle Grove; and two brothers, Carl, Eagle Grove, and Joseph, Livingston, Mont.
