Highmore, SD — Funeral service for Edward Paul, who died Monday at Rivercrest Manor Home in Pierre, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Our Saviour Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arthur H. Schmitt will officiate. Burial will be in Highmore City Cemetery.

Edward Elias Paul was born Feb. 11, 1888, to Valentine and Sarah Paul at Brookyille, Ill. He moved with his parents to Wright County, Iowa, and to Hyde County in 1908. They lived on a farm 12 miles southeast of Highmore for 56 years. Paul married Mary Schirrmacher in January, 1922. The moved to Highmore in 1964 where they lived for four years. The couple made their home with daughter, Mary, for two years. They were admitted a Highmore nursing home where Mrs. Paul died in August, 1971. Paul was later admitted to Rivercrest Manor at Pierre where he died. Paul was survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Alice) Biermann, Midland; Mrs. Sverre (Mary) Rognstad, Ft. Pierre; Mrs. Bernard (Deloris) Olson, Madison;, Mrs. Wallis (Patricia) Beck, Security, Colo.; Mrs. Dale (Dorothy) Metz, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister Mrs. Clara Bailey LaRue, Mason City, Ia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five sisters, three brothers and a grandson. Funeral arrangements were announced by Hurd Funeral Home.
