September 25, 1852 -- July 8, 1921

A double funeral Service was held Sunday afternoon, July 10th at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist Church at Elmdale for Mrs. S. C. Watson and her sister, Mrs. J. D. Johnson, who were instantly killed Friday evening, by a freight train while crossing the tracks in Elmdale; Rev. C. A. Rock conducted the services. The body of Mrs. Watson was taken to Clements, Kan., for interment, and the body of Mrs. Johnson was buried at Elmdale. Mrs. Watson's maiden name was Ella V. Finn. She was born in Wright County, Iowa, September 25, 1852, and was married, to Stephen C. Watson, December 24, 1872. Mr. Watson died December 28, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Watson were the parents of 12 children. Five survive Mrs. Watson.
They are: Mrs. J. W. Sampson, of Florence; Mrs. A. S. Patton, of Hound Mountain, Calif.; Wheeler
L. Watson, of Johnson City, Kan.; Warren J. Watson, of Clements; and Mrs. W. E. Zickefoose, of
Emporia. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Emporia.
