Thomas D. Harrington passed away on Thurs., July 19, 2012, at his home in Raytown, MO, at the age of 70. Funeral services will be held Tues., July 24, 2 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, IA.

Thomas Duane Harrington, the son of John W. and Veronica (Michor) Harrington, was born November 18, 1941, in Waverly, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Waverly, Osage and Dows. Tom served in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War – entering on December 8, 1959 and retiring from active military duty – as Administrative Chief on December 31, 1979. After his retirement from the Marine Corps, Tom managed various bars in the Kansas City area – including The Crossing and most recently the V.F.W. Post #1829. Tom was also a member of the FORR Local 5.

Thomas D. Harrington passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his home in Raytown, Missouri age of 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harrington in 1966 and Veronica Holliday in 1978. Survivors include his sister, Mary Harkema and husband John of Eagle Grove; brother, Paul Harrington and wife Sheri of Eagle Grove and nephews and nieces: David Harkema, Douglas Harkema, Michelle Harkema, Patti Metzer. Lisa Pliner, Shawn Dinsdale, Allison Packer and Scott Harrington.
