Errollee Salaun, 95, of Eagle Grove, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Rotary Ann Care Center at Eagle Grove. There will be no services for the public. Errollee West Bateman, daughter of Erroll and Esther Combell Bateman, was born February 28, 1917 at Gulfport, MS. She received her education in the Gulfport school system. In 1936, she married Arthur Vincent Salaun of New Orleans, La. She worked for several years as secretary for the Red Ball Freight in Mississippi. Mr. Salaun preceded her in death. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Margie Stevenson of Rising Fawn, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Mike Nelson of Woolstock; seven grandchildren, three from Woolstock, Jacob, Ben and Jenny Nelson: seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ann Bourque, brother Justus Bateman, and daughter Jeanne Staples. Errollee was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and crabbing in the gulf, and was a great cook. After her retirement she took care of the frail in their homes. She loved people and always had a story to tell.
