"Lorraine" (Mary) Keegan was born to Mary Anne (Sullivan) Keegan and James Keegan in Vincent, Iowa on September 5, 1918. She was one of two children on the farm, older sister to brother James Maurice "Bud" Keegan. Lorraine attended two years of college and moved from the family farm during World War II to work for the US Government, first in Washington DC and later to the Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA. She married Orville Wright Ross Jewell and had three children, Diane (Jewell) Parodi (Tom), Robert Jewell (Lucy), and Paul Jewell (Carol). She lived in Alameda most of her life and regularly attended St. Philip Neri masses. Lorraine worked for Alameda County and for Highland Hospital after her children were grown and worked well into her 70's. She loved her family, enjoyed her work and her garden, and was full of a lively spirit. Mary Lorraine is survived by her three children, her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services will be privately held.
