November 7, 1921 --- April 24, 2012

CLEAR LAKE, IA — Eleonora "Nora" Marie Schroeder, 90, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday April 24, 2012, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 N. Delaware, Mason City, with Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 27 from 5-7 p.m. at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy 122 W., Mason City. Memorials may be designated to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the NIACC Education Foundation; c/o Charles Schroeder, 10 Willow Dr., Mason City, IA 50401.

Nora was born Nov. 7, 1921 in LuVerne, the daughter of Karl and Bertha (Pergande) Schipull. Nora was baptized Dec. 4, 1921 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended eight years of parochial school and graduated from Vernon Consolidated High School near Renwick. She married Hans Schroeder in LuVerne, Dec. 29, 1957.

Nora enjoyed gardening, crafts, bus trips, playing cards, visiting with many lifelong friends and the lovely ladies at Oakwood/Courtyard Assisted Living. She was very proud of her totally weed free garden and lovely African Violets.

Nora is survived by two daughters Marie Roberts and her husband Denny, Clive, and Helen Mackey and her husband Kurt, Ames; son Charlie Schroeder and his wife Kathy, Mason City; grandchildren Aaron and Adam Roberts, Ben and Patty Mackey; great-grandchildren, Rowen, Weston, Christian and Miah; brother Harold Schipull, LuVerne, brother-in-law Otto Jagels, Livermore, seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hans Schroeder on Jan. 10, 2011, infant son Richard, twin infant grandchildren, grandson Hans, sisters Stella, Ann, and Lula, brother Al, brothers-in-law Alvin and Herb, and nephew Daryl. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, IA.
