Mr. Severance, who had spent most of his life in O'Brien county, having moved to Eagle Grove four years ago, had been in failing health the past few weeks. Services were held at Wilson's Chapel at Eagle Grove at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and the body was then brought to Sutherland. Rev. F. D. Worden officiated at the services and the I. O. O. F. ritual was given.

On September 30, 1920, he was married to Mrs. Eleanor T. Shaftoe, mother of a son, Robert Grant Shaftoe. The deceased was baptized in the Calvary Baptist Church at Omaha, Neb., in 1927. He was a member of the Golden Links I. O. O. F. No. 6 and an active member of the Baptist Church in Eagle Grove, where he and his wife have made their home for the past 4 years.
