Doris Kubly — Rochester
A memorial service for Doris Kubly will be held Friday, June 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa. The Reverend Bruce Kaltwasser will officiate. Burial of the urn will follow at Wayne Cemetery in McIntire, Iowa. Mrs. Kubly, 87, of Rochester, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at her home at Shorewood Commons in Rochester.
Doris Ann Hamer was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Morris and Leah (nee Loux) Hamer. Raised in Eagle Grove, she was a graduate of the public schools there. She attended business college in Des Moines, Iowa, and worked a couple of years in Des Moines. On Nov. 26, 1944, in Eagle Grove, she married Floyd Kubly. The Kublys farmed near Eagle Grove until 1952, and then continued farming near McIntire and Riceville, Iowa, until their retirement in 1975, at which time they moved to Osage. Mrs. Kubly was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (Dan) True of Wichita, Kan., Nancy (Gary) Rademaker of Tampa, Fla., Vickie Kubly of Rochester, Janet (Bill) Henderson of Rochester and Allen (Sandy) Kubly of Plainview; grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Steven, Matthew, Rebecca, Brett and Carly; great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Talon and Teigen; a brother, Marvin (Gen) Hamer of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and two sisters, Margaret Murphy of Auburn, Ala., and Phyllis Bauman of Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006; a daughter, Darlene; an infant son, Richard; a sister, and a brother. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. If so desired, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 State Street, Osage, Iowa 50461.
