Arlan R. Banwell, 65, of Clarion and Dows, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Memorial services for Arlan R. Banwell will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 100 North Lee St. in Dows. Reggie Dencklau will officiate. Visitation for Arlan R. Banwell will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 15, at the Dugger Funeral Home in Dows.
Arlan R. Banwell, age 65, of Clarion and Dows, died Monday May 14, 2012 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Arlan Ray Banwell was born February 21, 1947 in Clarion, Iowa. He was the youngest son, with twin sister Arvilla, of Max and Anne Croft Banwell. Arlan grew up in Dows on a farm with his 5 siblings. He graduated from Dows High School, Class of 1965. Attended Iowa University of Printing and spent his working years as a press room supervisor. He met and married Linda Billingsley in August of 1968. The couple was blessed with three daughters, Tiffany, Tamara, and Angela. Arlan lived his life as an adventure, living and moving to many states. Giving his family a secure life, his exploring enriched their lives. He will be remembered as a fun, giving, courageous and hardworking man. He was a gentle loving father who taught his girls to be tough, yet ladylike. Arlan was a father that was very much loved. He was a loving grandfather, or “Popoo”, as he was affectionately referred.
Arlan is survived by his three daughters, Tiffany Moore of North Carolina, Tamara Sibille and husband Scott of Louisana, Angela Eivins and husband David of Belmond, seven grandchildren, Tyler, Alexis, Jade, Caitlyn, Emilee, Isabela, Lil'David, five siblings, Bruce Banwell, Vicki Smith, John Banwell, Leigh Banwell, twin sister Arvilla Dencklau her husband and Arlan’s closest friend Reggie Dencklau and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. DUGGER FUNERAL HOMES, Dows, Iowa.
