MRS. VIERKANT RITES THURSDAY

Services to Be Held at Meservey Reformed Church at 2 p. m.

Mrs. Ben Vierkant, Sr., 85, died Monday evening at the home of her son, Harry Vierkant, of near Mason City. Mrs. Vierkant was born on May 6, 1866 at Beschotanweg, Germany, and came to this country with her family in 1903. She has spent most of her life near Meservey. Her husband died in 1924. Surviving Mrs. Vierkant are one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Bishop; four sons, George of Nora Springs, Harry of Mason City, Ben of Belmond and Harm of Rockford. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at the Major funeral home until Wednesday morning when it will be taken to the home of Harry Vierkant where it will remain until the time of funeral services. There will be a short prayer service at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Vierkant home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Meservey Reform church with the Rev. E. Kampmann in charge of services. Burial will be at the New Amsterdam cemetery at Goodell. The Major funeral home will be in charge.
