URBANA, IL – Richard D. Cox, 87, of Urbana died at 2 a.m. Saturday (April 21, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, the Rev. Wes Wilkey officiating. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Cox was born March 9, 1925, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Mike and Edith Cox. He married Marjorie Hill Tegland on March 17, 1949, in Moberly, Mo. She died on Jan. 21, 2000. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia A. Jordan of Urbana; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Mr. Cox was a 70-year member of the Brick and Stone Mason's Union, having operated his own masonry business for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Urbana, Moose Lodge and Pollywogs in Danville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
