WEBSTER CITY - Dale Francis Wagner, 74, of Webster City, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer, celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at St, Thomas from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday morning at the church. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:45 p.m. Thursday followed by a Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside military services will be conducted by American Legion Post #491 of Duncombe.
Dale Francis Wagner, son of Elmer and I. Lucille Sykes Wagner, was born December 1, 1937 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system, graduating from Lincoln High in 1956. He attended I.C.C.C. for one year. He was a member of the Iowa National Guard for ten years. He had resided at Ackley for three years. He started farming with his father west of Webster City. On November 17, 1956, he married Patsy E. (Pat) Rowe at St. Thomas Aquinas. The couple farmed west of Webster City for 52 years and also farmed near Woolstock for three years.
Dale is survived by his wife, Pat; children and spouses, Rick and Laurie Wagner of Fort Dodge; Sharon and Michael Jensen of Bentonville, AR; Bruce (Stumpy) Wagner (Kim Chambers) of Fort Dodge; Kim Oberender Doolittle and Matt Doolittle of Webster City; Cindy and Bill Dunaway of Garden City, MO: John Wagner of Ankeny; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Duane) Range of Webster City; Melva (Phil) Martin of Cape Coral, FL; sisters-in-law, Marie Deboer of Checotah, OK, Rhonda Wagner of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Marion Wagner; son-in-law, Jerry Oberender and his cat, Sassy. Dale was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, American Legion Post #498 at Port Isabel, TX, and Knight of Columbus. Foster Funeral Home - Webster City, Iowa.
