They moved to Lompoc in 1989, where they lived for 22 years, before moving to Hidden Valley Lake, CA in June 2011. In 2000, John took a lay minister interim position at the family's church, Peace Lutheran in Lompoc, CA. This led him back to his original call to ministry, and he was ordained January 15, 2005. He served as Pastor at Peace Lutheran until he retired June 1, 2011. After their move, he took another interim position at Atonement Lutheran Church in Sacramento, CA. Memorial services will be planned and held on future dates at Peace Lutheran Church, Lompoc, CA, Galilee Lutheran Church, Kelseyville, CA, and Atonement Lutheran Church in Sacramento, CA.
