Jacki Anderson, age 49, of Alexander, passed away Sunday March 4, 2012 at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Memorial services for Jacki Anderson will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday March 8, 2012 at the First Reformed Church in Alexander. Pastor Phil Arnold will officiate. Prior to the service, burial for Jacki Anderson will take place at 10:00 A.M. Thursday March 8, 2012 in the Alexander Cemetery east of Alexander. Viewing and visitation for Jacki Anderson will be open to the public after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday March 7, 2012 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane South in Belmond. There will be no viewing on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Jacki Anderson’s name to the family.
Jacqueline JoAnn, the daughter of Gene and Judy Boelman Draper, was born January 22, 1963 in Belmond. Jacki grew up in Alexander, where she attended CAL Community Schools. She graduated from CAL High School in 1980. Jacki attended Des Moines Area Community College. Jacki was united in marriage to Drew Kragel in 1981. The couple made their home in Coulter where they were blessed with a daughter, Jessica. The couple later divorced and Jacki and Jessi made their home in Alexander. In 1993, Jacki was united in marriage to Alan Anderson. They were blessed with a son, Jacob, and together they raised their family, Jessi and Jacob. Jacki worked as the office manager for Emergency Vehicles in Alexander. In 1996, Jacki achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Human Services from Buena Vista College.
Jacki was very community minded. She was a founding member of the Alexander Corporation, and was personally responsible for opening the Alexander Convenient Store in the mid 80s. Jacki was a life-long member of the First Reformed Church in Alexander. First Reformed Church was benefited by her membership in numerous ways. Jacki was a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, Catechism teacher, and was responsible for many wonderful Christmas Sunday School programs. Jacki was a 9 year member of the CAL School Board. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to the Black Hills South Dakota. Jacki often most enjoyed the simple things. Sitting beside her fire pit, winning the annual Draper Dynasty Fantasy Football Championship, twice, or playing with her grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy, these were what mattered most.
Jacki is survived by her husband, Alan, children, Jessi Olmstead and husband, Patrick of Webster City, Jacob at home, two grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy, her parents, Gene and Judy Draper of Alexander, two brothers, Ken and wife Jodi of Mason City, Mike and wife Julie of Mason City, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents.
