Lucille Marguerite Crovisier, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Hamer) Maier, was born June 29, 1916, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1933. On April 21, 1936, Lucille was united in marriage with John F. Crovisier at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Lucille was a homemaker and assisted John in farming for many years in the Eagle Grove area and the couple moved into town in 1972. Lucille was an active lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church – a member of the Sacred Heart Guild, St. John's Altar Society and helped with preparing food for the fair and other church events. After leaving her home, Lucille lived in the Sadler Apartments in Eagle Grove, The Meadows in Clarion and Rotary Ann South and North. Lucille enjoyed baking, sewing and loved to play cards. She also enjoyed taking short trips and belonging to the Red Hat Club.

Lucille passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home, at the age of 95 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, John on May 13, 1992 and three brothers: Joseph Maier of Eagle Grove, Richard Maier of Ames and Bernard Maier of Mooresboro, TN. Survivors include a sister, Virginia (Maier) Maher; two daughters, Shirley (Crovisier) Dolan and husband Keith of Greenfield, IN and Sharon (Crovisier) Fisher and husband Gary of rural Thor; four grandchildren: Michael Dolan of Eagle Grove, Mark Dolan and wife Denise of New Palestine, IN, James Fisher and friend Brenda of Eagle Grove and Annette (Fisher) Watts and husband William of Lincoln, NE; five great-grandchildren: Melissa Fisher of Eagle Grove, Jacob Dolan of Eagle Grove, Madison Dolan of New Palestine, IN, Avery and Abigail Watts of Lincoln, NE and one great great-grandson, Axton Schaumburg Dolan of Eagle Grove.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 2, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, with Father Nils Hernandez officiating. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be given or directed to a charity of your choice.
