Mildred Evelyn Kleppe, the daughter of Hans and Regina (Gartner) Enockson was born February 7, 1916, at Irvington, Iowa. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and confirmed at the Ottosen Lutheran Church in 1930. Mildred graduated from Ottosen High School in 1934 – she was the oldest living alumni of that school at the time of her death. Mildred married Bert Leroy Kleppe on June 27, 1936, at Fenton, Iowa. The couple lived in Ottosen after their marriage. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1939, where Mildred has resided since.

Mildred remained in her own home until October 1997, when she moved to the Rotary Ann Apartments. In December of 2003, she became a resident of Rotary Ann Assisted Living and in September 2005, she moved into the Rotary Ann Nursing Home, where she remained until her death. Mildred was the oldest member of Samuel Lutheran Church at the time of her death. She was an active church member, having served on the altar committee, participating in Ladies Aide (SLCW) and church circle. She enjoyed helping during "Quilting Days" at the church. Her specialty was making 'The Best' egg coffee for all to enjoy.

Survivors include three sons: Conrad and wife Marlene of Eagle Grove, Howard and wife Ardith of Mesa, AZ and Donald and wife Teresa of VA Beach, VA; eight grandchildren: Deb (Jeff) Tinker of Eagle Grove, Scott (Tonya) Kleppe of Loveland, CO, Kristi Trausch (Mike Anderson) of Eagle Grove, Travis Kleppe of California, Troy Kleppe (Ronda) of Fort Dodge, Michael (Heather) Kleppe of VA Beach, VA, Blake (Carrie) Kleppe of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Kendra Kleppe of VA Beach, VA; ten great-grandchildren: Angie (Mitch) Hackbarth of Pocahontas, Katie (Matt) Spangler of Ankeny, Bailey Kleppe of Loveland, CO, Chloe, Grace, and Treavor Kleppe of VA Beach, VA, Parks, Reeves and Arden Kleppe of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Tytan Kleppe of Eagle Grove; three great great-grandchildren: Emma, Cassi and Keegan Hackbarth of Pocahontas; brother, Virgil Enockson and wife Pearl of West Bend and sister-in-law, Katherine Enockson of Slingerlands, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred passed away on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bert in 1972; infant grandson, Stephen Kleppe; sister, Helen (Herman) Ludwig and brothers: Russell (Bernice) Enockson, Farrell Enockson and Stanley (Ruth) Enockson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, 1:30 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, with a Visitation from 12:30 until service time at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
