Earl D. “Bud” Iles, 81, Nortonville Ks died Friday, January 20 at St Francis Hospital. He was born December 11, 1930 in Goldfield, Iowa the son of Merle Tiffany and Helen Clarissa Sherman Iles. Growing up, Bud attended schools in Arkansas and in Kansas. He joined the army at the age of 17. He later reenlisted in 1960. After basic training, he was stationed in San Francisco, and then went to Germany and later to France. Bud married Willa J. Martin on December 14, 1964. They later divorced. He then married Patricia M. Place in July 16, 1977 at Larkinburg Christian Church. Bud enjoyed spending time with his family and singing. Bud is survived by wife Pat of the home, daughter, Melissa (Jim) Delzeit, Troy, KS; son, Earl Robert (Bobby) Iles, also of the home; granddaughters, Krystalyn Iles-Lucius, Ogden, KS, Elizabeth Iles-Lucius, Atchison KS; grandson, Bradley Laflin, Troy, KS; great-grandson Aaron James Lindstrom, brother, Nicholas O. (Hap) Iles, Topeka. He is also survived by extended family members, Stephen and Ann Pemberton and their children Cody, Alexander, and Deven; Josh Crenshaw, Mali McCoy, Bill McCoy and Nicole Brown. He was preceded death by his parents, infant son, Gary; infant daughters, Angela, Helen and Catherine; sister, Della May Lucius and brother, Robert Sherman. Memorial services will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 312 Elm St., Nortonville, Kansas on Saturday February 4, 2012 at 1:00PM.
