IOWA FALLS, IA — Lynn Eugene Nachazel, 69, of Iowa Falls, died on Friday, November 4, 2011, at his home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 8, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of the arrangements

Lynn Nachazel, was born on August 23, 1942, to Clarence and Mary Lois (Ellison) Nachazel in Alden. Lynn was one of the first students to attend kindergarten class in Popejoy, however his senior year he attended the Alden High School because of the consolidation of these two schools. Following high school, he attended Ellsworth Community College. On September 7, 1963, Lynn was united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Bach of Dows. He was a member of the Iowa Falls Guard Unit and a lifetime member of the Lee Center United Methodist Church.

Lynn was a quiet man who loved farming, participating in antique tractor rides, NASCAR racing and airplanes; but his greatest enjoyment was camping with the grandchildren. He was willing to eat endless s'mores and proudly showed the younger generation how to make a perfect fire-poking stick. Lynn and Cheryl loved spending the winter months with their friends in San Benito, Texas.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Iowa Falls; three daughters, Kate (Tony) Mazza and their children, Tymika, Kaeten, Natalie and Nickolas and Tvmika's children, Kimoni and Nevaeh, all of Washington D.C.; Jacki (William) Foley and their children, Amber (Gavin), Amanda, McCallaster and McKenna of Alden; and Kerre (Kevin) Yeager and their children, Hunter and Spencer of Ft. Myers, Florida; two sons, Jeff (Sarah) Nachazel and their children, Elly, Miller and Isabel of Hampton and Kourtney (Nicole) Nachazel and their children, Lydia, Lincoln and Lola of Iowa Falls; a foster son, Taylor Shattuck; and a brother-in-law, Dennis (Mary) Bach of Austin, Texas. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lois Nachazel.
