Irene C. Mott, 86, of Story City, died Friday, March 7, of a heart ailment at Bethany Manor in Story City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Irene C. Mott was born April 8, 1916, in Renwick, the daughter of Hans Walbeck and Alma Josephine (Johnson) Knutson. She married Verland Wallace Mott July 28, 1936. She worked as a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Randall.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Auestad of Story City and Virginia Zoutte of Tacoma, Wash.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service Monday, March 10, at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Memorials may be directed to Elim Lutheran Church in Randall or Bethany Manor in Story City. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
