HOLD RITES FOR AREA FARMER, ROY POHLMAN, 61

Funeral services were held at Tama Tuesday for Roy Pohlman, 61, Grinnell, who died at a local hospital Dec. 24th following an illness of several weeks. Officiating at the services was the Rev. C.E. Kingsley, pastor of the First Baptist church, and music was by Mrs. Cecil Bearden and Mrs. Dorothy Strine. Floral attendants were Mrs. Frank Turner and Mrs. Norval Simmons. Pallbearers were Frank Turner, Elza Heishman, Earl Heishman, Frank Fontinel, Lavern Lamb and Lester Mahlin. Interment was in Sheridan cemetery.

Son of Charles and Frances Broeffel Pohlman, he was born Sept. 5th, 1898, in Eagle Grove. Mr. Pohlman grew to manhood in his native community and attended the public schools. He was united with the church in his youth. On Oct. 14th, 1927, he was united in marriage with Frances Irene Bakke at Clinton. Most of their married life was spent on the farm and they lived in Poweshiek county, in the Sheridan community, for about 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; his daughter, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Jantzen; two grandsons, Jerry and Alan; two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Olson of Edgerton, Wis., and Mrs. Emil (May) Oldson of Champaign, Ill.; and three brothers, Elmer of Waterloo, Edward and Floyd of Eagle Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pohlman was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
