ALGONA, IA - Mrs. Louella Louise Sanders, 74, Lakewood, Calif., former area resident, died Saturday at Lakewood where she had made her home the past 12 years. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hamilton-Wilson Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Beryl McLaughlin, Lakewood, Calif.; Mrs Doris Kinne, Tacoma, Wash.; a son Glen, Camarillo, Calif.; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Eva Barton, Wells, Minn.; and brother, William Helmke, Renwick.

Louella Helmke was born in Renwick and also lived in the Humboldt - Lone Rock areas. She married Otis Sanders who died in 1946. At one time she worked as a nurses aid at Lutheran Hospital (now Bethesda General) in Fort Dodge.

Ex-Lone Rock Woman Dies In California

Louella Louise Sanders, 74, formerly of the Lone Rock and Humboldt area, now of Lakewood, California, died Saturday, March 27 (1971) at Lakewood after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31 at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton-Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey D. Steven officiating. Burial was in the East Lawn cemetery with Hamilton-Wilson Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Tom Daman, Jack Daman, Norman Helmke, Gene Ruby, Darrel Johnson and Gary Basier.

Louella Louise Sanders was born at Renwick, Iowa, August 31, 1896, the daughter of Claus Helmke and Dora Kuhl Helmke. She attended the Renwick schools. She was married to Otis Sanders, who died in 1946. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Beryl McLaughlin, Lakewood, Calif., and Mrs. Doris Kinne, Tacoma, Wash.; one son, Glen Sanders, Camrillo, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Eva Barton, Wells, Minn, and one brother, William Helmke, Renwick.
