Leo Virgil Hilpipre, 57, Eagle Grove died Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Diane DeSmidt officiating. Burial was in the French Church Cemetery in Woolstock. Williams Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.

Leo V. Hilpipre, son of Howard and Dorothy Smith Hilpipre, was born March 25, 1942 in Iowa Falls. He served in the armed forces following his high school graduation. He was married to Myrtle Frette. He later married his current wife Dorothy in 1994. He operated the Hilpipre Bar in Woolstock for several years, before beginning his career with the Postal Service. He was a rural mail carried for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Woolstock.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Eagle Grove, his father, Howard of Woolstock, sons and daughter-in-laws, Tony and Kim Hilpipre, Woodland Hills, CA., Tim and Cindy Hilpipre, Spencer, a daughter Tami Pruissman of Phoenix, AZ., a step-son, Stacy Dimmick of Fairbault, MN., two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jerry Bohy, Eagle Grove, Shanna and Dave Meegan, Omaha; mother-in-law, Vanetta Lund of Thor, a brother Randy Hilpipre, Woolstock, a sister Bonnie Seehase of Sumner. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, and brothers Douglas and Rodney Hilpipre.
