August 20, 1915 -- June 23, 2002

Angeline O. Erickson, 86, of Maxwell, died Sunday, June 23, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames from a heart ailment.

She was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Huxley to John Orline and Jessie (Jacobson) Sharp. She was raised by her mother's parents, Andrew and Anna Jacobson near Belmond. She married Eric (Ed) Erickson on May 24, 1933, in Ames. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Cambridge and the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cross-stitching, her yard and flowers, reading and studying her Bible.

Survivors include four sons, Curtis (and Harriett) Erickson of Maxwell, Philip (and Sandra L.) Erickson of Nevada, Eddie (and Sandra T.) Erickson of Maxwell and Charles James Erickson of Maxwell; four daughters, Shirley Rutter (and George Litchfield) of Randall, Karen (and Robert) Fry of Des Moines, Sandra (and James) McCauley of Mitchellville and Judith Ann Erickson of Maxwell; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dick Sharp, Fred Sharp, LeRoy Sharp, all of Ames, and Max Sharp of Hampton; and a sister, Leota Gammon of Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 10, 1976; three grandchildren, Monty Fry, Cheryl Ann Rutter and Allan James Rutter; two sisters, Jessie Petersen and Karlene Kenney; and three brothers, Orville Sharp, John Sharp and Milford Sharp.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with the Rev. Don Burket officiating. Interment was in the Lincoln Cemetery, north of Huxley.
