Ruth E. Hill, 82, of Boone, died Thursday of complications from pneumonia at Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Assembly of God Church in Boone, with Don Beal officiating. Burial will be in Webster City Cemetery.

Ruth E. Hill was born May 20, 1919, in Otho, the daughter of Ernest L. and Berdena M. (Ford) Peterson. She attended school at Winterset. She married Everett N. Hill March 16, 1938, in Winterset. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants: Hill Top Cafe at Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Weona Cafe at Sleep Eye, Minn.; M & M Cafe at Eagle Grove; Fireside Cafe at Charidon, Ore.; and Amity Cafe at Amity, Ore. She retired in 1981. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Boone.

She is survived by one son, Gary Hill of Ames; three daughters, Shirley Anderson of Boone, Sandra Yates of Redmond, Ore., and Betty Frotcher of Manhattan, Kan.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter; two brothers; and one sister.

The family will receive friends and family from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at its discretion. Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home in Boone is in charge of arrangements.
