Merlen T. Hegland, 78, of Ames, died Friday, Jan. 14, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Jewell. Family burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery in rural Kanawha. Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
