Irving H. Jensen, co-owner and publisher of the Tri-County News, Osseo, Wisconsin died Monday [January 3, 1972] at the Osseo Area Hospital of a heart attack. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Jensen was born July 4, 1906 in Algona, Iowa and grew up on a farm in Emmons, Minnesota. He attended high school and graduated from Jr. College at Waldorf Academy in Forest City, Iowa. He married Olga L. Aasgaard on January 14, 1934. Mr. Jensen entered the U.S. Navy in June of 1943 as a flight mechanic and was discharged in November of 1945. After his discharge, Mr. Jensen purchased the Wright County Reporter, a weekly newspaper in Dows, Iowa, which he owned and operated for ten years. Following this he purchased Walterick Printing Company in Fort Dodge, Iowa, which he owned for five years. In October of 1960, Mr. Jensen and his son, Michael, formed a partnership and purchased the Tri-County News, in Osseo from J. H. Smith. Mr. Jensen was owner and publisher until his death. His son, Michael will continue as publisher of the Tri-County News. Irv was a member of Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carl Nelson Post 324 of the American Legion and Ashlar Lodge No. III AF and AM of Fort Dodge, Iowa. Mr. Jensen was a member of chapter and commander at Fort Dodge Iowa and belonged to Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Temple in Des Moines, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Olga, and one son, Michael, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Leroy Jonsrud officiating. Burial will be in the Osseo Cemetery.
