Helen Irene Arnold, the daughter of Frank and Alberta (Richards) Arnold, was born November 3, 1907 in Thornton, Iowa. She attended school and graduated from Thornton High School. In 1928, she was united in marriage to John C. Mors. The couple moved wherever John's work as a civil engineer took them; including Chicago, Fort Wayne, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and several Iowa towns, Mason City, Fort Dodge, and Webster City. They made their home in Fort Dodge in the late 1930's as John was employed as the Webster County Engineer. Irene loved the Fort Dodge community and people. She did volunteer work her entire life, she enjoyed oil painting, and keeping busy. She lived in her own home and just recently mentioned for the first time ever, "I'm bored." Irene will be remembered for her many talents, including her impeccable timing for selling grain.
Those left to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law John E. and Laurel Mors, of Fort Dodge, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Mors, her son Gordon, one grandson, and her sisters Emma and Jeanette and her brothers Frank, Arthur, John, Orlean and Sam Arnold.
Memorials may be directed towards the First United Methodist Church, 127 N. 10th St. Fort Dodge, for their Sidewalk Sunday School program.
