Funeral services for Berniece L. Mohr, 81, Marengo, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at New Covenant Parish, Victor. She died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. The Rev. James Davis officiated at the service. Burial was in the Ohio Cemetery, rural Ladora. Memorials may be made to the Ladora First Responders. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, was in charge of arrangements.
Berniece Lucille Mohr was born April 30, 1930, in Marengo, the daughter of Fred and Lucille Farmer Madison. She attended Iowa County and Marengo schools and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1948. She married Ronald Mohr Sept. 7, 1952, in Marengo. The couple farmed for many years. She was also employed at Amana Refrigeration and Koehn Motors, Victor. She was a member of the Ohio Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and served as church treasurer.
Mohr is survived by her husband, Ronald; one son and his wife, Barry and Marna, Ladora; one daughter and her husband, Sally and Rodney J. Cronbaugh, Belle Plaine; five grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Tina Cronbaugh, Molly and Tim Weesner, Emily and Noah Schmelzer, Alan and Sara Mohr, Stacy and Chris Montross; four great-grandchildren, Ellie Weesner, Cecilia Weesner, Tyson Mohr and Easton Mohr; one brother and his wife, Fred and Regina Madison, Eagle Grove, and four sisters, Margaret Risdon, Marengo; Marian Freeman, Plattsburg, Mo.; Joan Gillespie, Chatfield, Minn., and Donna Rae Cranston, Grundy Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jim Madison, and one sister, Arleen Danskin.
