Howard "Bill" Voight, 81, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at a local medical center. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, in Elmwood Memorial Park with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at a visitation 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Howard "Bill" was born June 18, 1930 to Ida (Koepke) and Otto Voight in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He married Evelyn Blackledge. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and six sisters. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Voight of Abilene; his daughter, Ida Mae Voight of Abilene; a brother, Virgil Voight of Springfield, Indiana; and his beloved companion Yorkie dog "Tyde".
